I was living in Anchorage Alaska at the time the and shoe repair shop that also held the luggage repair contracts for the airlines had an ad on their wall. Cost was $99 with an adjustable belt and final tailing to fit. As Anchorage is much cooler than Moses Lake where we are living now I wanted something other than wet cold leather to ride in. I already had purchased a bright yellow Alpine Stars jacket of Cordura with elbow and shoulder protection. It has a sew in liner and so I got a Joe Rocket jacket on a close out that has a light liner with removable vest for the warmer weather here. When I was at the Seattle cycle show one of the vendors had a vented jersey material that had the body armor in it but was vented so would be very nice for the 100+ degree days we get here in the summer. Suggest you use the yellow pages and phone to find the material and someone to sew it. Seems like the number 500 or 1000 count thread is part information you will need to get the right stuff. Anchorage store is "Boot country's 5th ave shoe repair" ph 907-349-8713. Max
